A private sisters-only area, approximately half the size of an event hall.
What is proposed
The proposal is for a private sisters-only area of roughly half the size of an event hall: a space to pray, and equally a space to sit, talk and stay a while.
Most provision for women in community buildings is a prayer area and nothing more, which quietly communicates that women come to worship and then leave. This proposal treats the social half as equally important, with a dedicated prayer area at one end and comfortable lounge seating at the other.
It would be genuinely private — its own room rather than a screened-off corner — so that it is comfortable to use without arranging anything in advance.

The thinking
How Sisters Only Space could work
A dedicated prayer area
Set aside within the room, so prayer does not have to wait for the space to be free or be arranged around anyone else's use of it.
Somewhere to sit
Comfortable sofa and lounge seating, for the hour after a class, the wait before a school pick-up, or a conversation that needs somewhere to happen.
Space to meet
Room for a study circle, a small gathering or a group that would rather not book a meeting room to sit together.
Privacy by design
A separate room with controlled access rather than a partitioned area, so privacy is a property of the building and not of an arrangement.
Alongside the main prayer hall
The main prayer space in Prayer & Discovery, now being prepared, will be open to everyone. This is an addition for sisters who want it, not a replacement or a redirection.
Shaped by those who will use it
Layout, furnishing and access arrangements are open questions, and we would rather settle them with the women who will use the room.

What this depends on.
Everything here is part of the proposed vision for the building. It is shown so the community can shape it, not because it is fixed.
