Visits for schools, colleges and groups, free for schools, colleges, universities and community groups. Prayer & Discovery is being prepared, so tell us about your group and we will confirm what we can offer on your date.
Who visits
Six kinds of group, one welcome.
Schools
Primary and secondary, mapped to the Curriculum for Wales — Religion, Values and Ethics, and the Humanities area of learning. Free, including for the whole year group.
Colleges
Sixth form and FE groups, with sessions pitched at A-level Religious Studies, Sociology and Politics specifications.
Universities
Undergraduate and postgraduate visits, including teacher-training cohorts, medical students and social work programmes.
Community groups
WI branches, walking groups, faith groups, U3A, scouts and guides. Weekday afternoons and Sunday mornings work best.
Corporate diversity visits
For teams doing cultural competence or inclusion work properly rather than as a slide. Chargeable, and priced to subsidise the free school programme.
Public tours
Individuals and families can join a scheduled open tour without booking a private group.
What you can request
Three formats, and they combine.
Group tour
About an hour: the prayer hall, the courtyard, the exhibition and time for questions. The default, and enough for most groups.
Introduction to Islam session
A 45-minute facilitated session pitched to the age group, covering belief, practice and the questions the group actually has. Can be combined with the tour.
Educational visit
Half a day, built with the teacher in advance around a specific unit of work, with materials sent ahead and follow-up resources after.

One form for all of it. Tell us who you are bringing and roughly when, and the education lead will come back with dates and a plan.
Curriculum unit, topics to cover, accessibility needs, anything the group is nervous about.
Practicalities
What teachers ask first.
Nothing for schools, colleges, universities and community groups. Corporate diversity visits are charged, and that income subsidises the free programme.
Two weeks, so we can brief a guide who is right for the group. We can sometimes do less — ask.
Up to 35 comfortably in one group, and a full year group by arrangement, split into rotating groups across the building.
No. Shoes come off at the prayer hall door, and head covering is optional for everyone including visitors entering the hall. Nobody will be asked to do anything they are not comfortable with.
Yes to both. We send a risk assessment and our safeguarding policy with every confirmation, and all guides working with young people are DBS-checked.
Please let them. The most useful visits are the ones where somebody asks about extremism, women or free speech and gets a straight answer rather than a deflection.
Yes — there is space for coach drop-off and parking on site, and around 70 car spaces.
Level access throughout the ground floor where the tour takes place, accessible WCs, a lift to the first floor, and a hearing loop in the events hall.
